Reconnecting to Ourselves in Challenging Times
Have you ever felt emotionally flooded or physically heavy after a busy week—or after simply being out in the world?

This week, I filmed my latest YouTube Podcast / Vlog episode outdoors in my back garden. Surrounded by trees and birdsong, I wanted to demonstrate a simple way to come home to yourself again through Reiki self-healing and grounding meditation.
The Practice: Ground • Connect • Protect
Begin by sitting comfortably on the earth or floor, hands resting on your heart and belly.
Close your eyes, lengthen your spine, and take a few deep breaths—in through the nose, out through the mouth.
With each breath, picture a line of light traveling from your base chakra down into the earth. Feel yourself safely anchored.
Then visualise a gentle column of white light descending through your crown, connecting you with your higher self and the angelic realm.
This simple “ground, connect, and protect” technique instantly rebalances your nervous system and clears the energy you may have absorbed from others.
Working with Archangel Raphael: Balance & Healing
In the video, I invite Archangel Raphael, the angel of balance and harmony, the Archangel I often work with for body healing, to guide our self-care practice.
I use the Angelic Celestial Colours aura spray for Balance and Harmony, misting it gently around the body while visualising emerald-green light washing through my aura.
Often, when healing energy begins to move, I experience physical sensations—tingling, yawns, or even a spontaneous sigh of release. These are signs that stagnant energy is leaving the body.
As Archangel Raphael’s energy flows, many people notice a sense of peace, emotional lightness, or physical warmth. It’s a reminder that healing can be both profound and simple when we connect consciously.
The Earth Star Chakra Bowl: Frequency for Grounding
Sound is one of the fastest ways to shift our vibration.
In this session, I play my Earth Star Chakra crystal singing bowl (432 Hz)—a grounding frequency that harmonises the subtle body and strengthens our connection to the earth.
As you listen, imagine each tone anchoring your energy deeper into safety, stability, and presence.
Nature itself becomes part of the meditation: wind in the trees, birds calling, even the hum of insects—all vibrations reminding us that we belong here. The barking dog teaching us mindfulness despite the triggers of distraction.
For Empaths and “Spoonies”: Gentle Awareness
Many empaths and “spoonies” (those living with chronic illness) notice that when we speak about symptoms or trauma, we can momentarily feel them more strongly.
That’s okay—it’s part of bringing unconscious energy into awareness so it can transform.
The key is balance: acknowledging what’s real without being consumed by it.
That’s why mindfulness practices, Reiki self-healing, and guided grounding are essential tools for thriving while living with chronic conditions.
